After an early breakfast, meet your guide and depart from Arusha for the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. The drive to Marangu Gate takes approximately 2–2.5 hours.
Arrive at Marangu Gate, complete registration and park formalities, meet your mountain crew, and prepare for the hike.
Start hiking through the beautiful rainforest of the Marangu Route. Along the way, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and look out for monkeys, birds, and unique vegetation.
Continue ascending through the rainforest toward Mandara Hut, taking short breaks along the trail to rest, drink water, and enjoy the changing scenery.
Arrive at Mandara Hut and enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by the impressive mountain environment. Take some time to relax and explore the nearby area.
Enjoy a short exploration around Mandara Hut, with an opportunity to take photographs and appreciate the first major mountain zone of Kilimanjaro.
Start descending through the rainforest toward Marangu Gate, enjoying the trail from a different perspective.
Reach the gate, complete the exit procedures, and meet your driver before beginning the journey back to Arusha.
Drive back to Arusha after an exciting day experiencing the slopes and rainforest of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Arrive in Arusha, marking the end of your memorable Mount Kilimanjaro day hiking experience.

How to Tip:
• At the end of the trek, tipping is usually done during the tipping ceremony, often held at the last campsite or hotel.
• It’s best to put all tips together in an envelope and hand it to the head guide to distribute fairly among the team.
• Alternatively, you can request to distribute individually if you prefer transparency.
• It is also acceptable to give small personal thank-you tips to specific staff who made your trek extra special.
