EATL Tour offers both private and open group Kilimanjaro climbs, giving you the flexibility to choose the style of trek that best suits your travel plans.
Whether you choose a private or open group climb, our focus remains the same: experienced mountain guides, carefully planned routes, proper equipment, nutritious meals and professional support throughout your trek.
Private Kilimanjaro Climb
A private climb gives you greater control over your Kilimanjaro experience.
Flexible Route & Dates
Choose your preferred climbing date and route based on availability and park regulations. Private climbs provide more flexibility when planning your itinerary.
Personalized Itinerary
Your itinerary can be designed around your group. Depending on the route and circumstances, you may be able to adjust the number of trekking days or discuss itinerary changes with your mountain specialist and guide.
Your Own Group
Travel with your family, friends or travel companions without being placed with other climbers. You decide who joins your private group.
Special Trekking Options
Certain specialized arrangements may only be suitable for private climbs, depending on the route, season and park regulations. Ask our team about options such as extended acclimatization itineraries and specialized summit arrangements.
Ideal For
Private climbs are particularly suitable for families, couples, friends, photographers, honeymooners and travelers who want a more personalized mountain experience.
Open Group Kilimanjaro Climb
Open group climbs allow individual travelers and smaller parties to join other climbers on a scheduled trek.
More Affordable
Sharing the climb with other travelers can reduce the overall cost compared with a private trek.
Meet Other Travelers
Open group climbs are a great opportunity to meet people from different countries and share the Kilimanjaro experience with fellow trekkers.
Scheduled Itinerary
Open group climbs follow a predetermined route and itinerary. This means there is generally less flexibility to change dates, routes or the number of trekking days after the group has been confirmed.
Shared Experience
You will trek as part of a group while receiving the same professional mountain support throughout the climb.
Ideal For
Open group climbs are a practical option for solo travelers, couples and small groups who are comfortable sharing the experience with other climbers.

Is Opening a Private Group to Other Travelers the Same as an Open Group Climb?
No. A private climb remains a private arrangement even if you later decide to allow additional travelers to join.
If you want other travelers to join your group, we will discuss the arrangement with you first. Any change in price depends on the final group size and itinerary and does not automatically make the climb equivalent to an open group climb.
How Large Are Open Group Climbs?
Open group sizes depend on the route, scheduled departure and number of confirmed travelers. We aim to keep groups manageable so that climbers can receive appropriate attention from the mountain team.
When planning your climb, we will confirm the expected group size and itinerary with you before departure.
Which Option Should I Choose?
Choose a private climb if you value flexibility, want to travel with your own group or would like a more personalized itinerary.
Choose an open group climb if you are comfortable sharing the experience with other travelers and would like a more cost-conscious way to climb Kilimanjaro.
If you’re unsure which option suits you, our Kilimanjaro specialists can help you compare the routes, dates and group arrangements available for your trip.
