Shira 1 Camp is a mountain camp at 3,610 m on Mount Kilimanjaro, used as an overnight stop on the Lemosho Route. It is the first camp on the Shira Plateau and is reached after the walk from Mti Mkubwa Camp through the forest and moorland.
Guests sleep in tents set up by the crew, with meals in a dining tent and basic toilets at the site.
The plateau gives wide views of Kibo and Mount Meru, and the camp is a calm place to begin adjusting to the altitude.
