Kibo Hut is a mountain hut at 4,703 m on Mount Kilimanjaro, used as an overnight stop on the Marangu and Rongai Routes. It stands in the alpine desert on the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo and is the base for the summit attempt.
The stone hut has shared bunk rooms and a dining area. Nights are cold and the site is exposed, with basic toilets and no showers.
Guests rest in the early evening and set out shortly before midnight to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise.
